The Mountain Ice & Water Lab operates on the principle that rigorous science and supportive team culture are inseparable. We conduct field and modelling research through open collaboration, technical depth, and curiosity-driven inquiry.
Fieldwork is foundational to our science, and we approach it with preparation, safety, and care. We support team members with varying experience levels and make decisions based on safety.
Mentorship is central to our lab. We build a collaborative environment that supports autonomy and critical thinking while helping each other grow as scientists.
Our lab values inclusivity, equity, and respect in both scientific spaces and mountain environments. We are feminists and allies. We actively work to foster safe, accessible field practices and recognize the systemic barriers that influence who feels welcome in mountain research.
